Organic Ocean was established in 2007 in Vancouver, BC, by local fishers who saw an opportunity to revitalize small-scale coastal fisheries by adopting sustainable fishing techniques and improved handling practices.
They were among the very first seafood suppliers in Canada to adopt 100% sustainable practices. Every species they supply is recommended by Ocean Wise, SeaChoice, or Seafood Watch — and their seafood is free from antibiotics, preservatives, added growth hormones, herbicides, pesticides, synthetic colouring, and genetically modified ingredients.
Their selection includes wild salmon, halibut, sablefish, albacore tuna, spot prawns, Dungeness crab, oysters, and more — all harvested on the BC coast. When you order seafood from Northern Raised, it comes from fishers who built their business around doing this right, not around doing it at scale.
